Weekend Fun

We had a great weekend together, just hanging out and having fun. We had a good balance of family time and time with friends. On Saturday we decided to check out Lake of the Woods in Mahomet. We started with the Early American Museum, which was totally free but we were very impressed. There was lots of interactive exhibits that the girls really seemed to enjoy, all about the history of this part of the state.

Illinois truly is the "Land of Lincoln." He's everywhere! There was a whole exhibit dedicated to the history of Lincoln's visits to Champaign County. Here are the girls riding in a buggy with Mr. Lincoln. Now that the girls know who he is, they've been noticing him all over the place. On license plates, on a sculpture at the park, on a penny, etc.
Norah's latest spot for quiet time is this laundry basket. It's filled with stuffed animals, but she manages to fit her little body in there with them and has even taken a few naps.
This was Anna's idea. She wanted me to take pictures of them doing different "faces." Here is grumpy faces.
Silly faces.
Happy faces.
Sad faces.
Excited faces.
Surprised faces.
And mad faces. Notice "mad" and "grumpy" look very similar, but Anna informed me that there is a difference. I think I would rather encounter "grumpy" Norah than "mad" Norah, wouldn't you?
