Spring Break!

We've all been pretty busy the past few weeks working, going to school, and just living life. So we were ready for a break, and this one came at the perfect time. We spent a few days at home before we got to go on vacation to Tucson, Arizona.

We spent a snowy Saturday dying Easter eggs.
I took the girls to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

Then we flew to Tucson to meet my parents. They have visited Tucson several times, and this time decided to invite us along. I've never been to that part of Arizona before, and it was fun to visit some place new. Most of all, we enjoyed the perfect weather and spent every afternoon at the pool.

Our first morning we went to Sabino Canyon for a hike. We rode the tram to the top of the canyon, then got out to explore a little bit. We found these pools that were perfect for wading.

The next day we visited the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. It was more like a zoo and a botanic garden than a museum. I have never seen so many cacti in one place! The girls really enjoyed seeing the animals, but they did get kind of hot and tired so we didn't see everything.
At this point Norah was not into taking pictures, even if it was in front of a giant cactus.

On our last night we went to eat at El Charro, which is now my favorite Mexican restaurant. Oh my word it was delicious. I was trying to get a good picture of the girls with Papa and Granna, but as usual Norah was not cooperating. I asked her to take her fingers out of her mouth, but when she wouldn't do it Papa decided to put his fingers in his mouth too.
We got home on Saturday just in time for our church's Easter egg hunt. The girls are not into dressing up for anything, so we don't have a picture with everyone in their cute spring dresses. But I was able to snap this one of the girls and our friends the Lees as we were waiting for church to start. Our first Easter at Mountair.
We were so thankful for the chance to get away and soak up the sun for our Spring Break. Now it's back to school tomorrow...
