Last few weeks of summer

With school starting tomorrow, I decided to report on our last few weeks of summer. A few weeks ago, the Broncos had a scrimmage at the stadium. It was free, and we live so close to the stadium now we thought it would be fun to give it a try. Both girls seemed excited to do something new, especially after we bought them official fan gear (Manning jerseys).

But if course, it was hot. And of course we got caught in traffic getting into the parking lot. And of course it was crowded, so all the fun kids activities we had told the girls about had super long lines. So by the time we took this picture, Norah was starting to fall apart.
Joel and I both enjoyed seeing Peyton Manning take the field for the first time. Norah got a little freaked out by all the noise. So after about 20 minutes of listening to her complain, I decided to take her home and let Joel and Anna stay and watch the game in peace.
Last weekend we ventured up to Lookout Mountain for a short hike. It was great to be outside enjoying the mountains.

On the way home we stopped at Buffalo Bill's gravesite. The girls were not very impressed, but they had fun taking these pictures!

Norah as Buffalo Bill
 And Anna as Annie Oakley

We've done lots of other fun things as well, like going swimming and helping my sister Sara get her classroom ready. On Friday we got to meet the girls' teachers and they are both excited about starting school. So hopefully we'll have some first day pictures up tomorrow!
