An Update on our Transition

It has been two weeks since we packed up the moving truck and drove from Champaign, IL to Denver, CO. But we're still in transition. We're so thankful for the calls and emails we've received from friends and family wondering how things are going for us, and Joel and I thought it was time to write about what we've been up to and where we hope to go from here.

The first week we spent in Denver, catching up with old friends and spending time with my mom (who drove with us during the move) and sister. Joel finished up the interview process for two associate pastor positions at two different churches. Then we drove down to New Mexico to stay with my parents for awhile. Both churches are planning to make their decisions sometime this week, so we're hoping to be headed back up to Denver soon to find a place to live.

It feels a bit anti-climactic to have packed up all our possessions and moved across the country, yet we haven't moved into a new home yet. We want to live close to where Joel works, so we decided to wait until he had a job to make a decision about where to live. We're so thankful for God's provision, specifically family and friends who have offered to share their homes with our family while we wait through this transition. And it is hard to wait. We've known this move was coming for several months, so in some ways it feels like we've been waiting forever. We're praying for patience and wisdom, and for rest as we try to take advantage of this "in between" time.

"We wait in hope for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us O Lord, even as we put our hope in you." Psalm 33:20-22.

As we wait, we've certainly had some memorable experiences together. Here's a few pictures to give you an idea of the fun things we've been doing!
