Last night, Joel and I were checking the weather forecast because we knew a storm was coming. We saw that there was a "severe weather alert" and that 1 to 3 inches of snow were predicted overnight. We were laughing about the "severe weather alert" because back in Denver, 1-3 inches would have been nothing. Not even enough to need to go shovel your driveway. Well, it snowed a lot more than they thought it would, and we ended up getting about 6 inches and it's still snowing! We all went out to help shovel the driveway and pretty soon the neighborhood kids were all out to play in the snow.

Our neighbors the McMahons brought over a sled and asked Joel to pull them around the yard. After a few successful laps, he sped up a little too much and Norah and Anna both fell out. Norah did a faceplant, and she was not happy about it. I just happened to catch the incident in a picture.
And the aftermath...
But she decided to get back on, this time with Mr. McMahon pulling the sled.
Apparently Champaign doesn't usually get this much snow. So this is a big deal around here. Thankfully it's not windy and bitter cold, so it was a good day to get out and enjoy the snow.

If only I hadn't taken your flannel lined khakis, your kids could have enjoyed the snow with you. :)
